Delivered by Viral Vectors
We’re not sure if it’s a coincidence that shRNA starts with “sh”, but that pretty much sums up its job. This piece of artificial RNA is delivered into cells via a bacterial or viral vector. Then it proceeds to encourage the cell to produce siRNA which then knocks out the expression of a gene. If you or someone you know works with shRNA, then this piece is for you all! It also makes a great gift for gene therapy researchers, molecular biologists, geneticists, and starry-eyed pre-med students.
